Clarence Nationals MP, Chris Gulaptis, has toured the new Service NSW one-stop shop at Grafton hailing its expanded services and extended trading hours as a huge boost for the residents and businesses of the Northern Rivers region.

“This is an exciting initiative for residents and businesses in the region. We are delivering on a key commitment to make transacting with government easier,” Mr Gulaptis said.

Service NSW delivers more than 800 government transactions such as driver licence applications, contractor licences, birth certificate applications, Fair Trading licences, housing payments and more. Since its launch in 2013, Service NSW has served more than 11 million customers through the digital service, 24/7 phone service and 26 service centres across the State.

“Carrying out multiple transactions in one place saves everyone time and money,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“To complement one-stop shops such as Grafton, the government is making it even more convenient for customers byputting further transactions online – building on the work we’ve already achieved such as doing away with rego stickers for vehicles.

“New initiatives such as LiveChat, more self-serve kiosks and the Service NSW mobile app is also increasing convenience for customers.”

Grafton’s Service NSW Centre is located at 3 King Street Grafton (the former motor registry site) and opened its doors on 26 February. The Centre will open for extended hours from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 12pm Saturdays.

“The Centre’s new manager is Peggy Baynham, who has been working at the Bondi Junction motor registry in Sydney,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“Peggy originally hails from the Northern Rivers region and I know she and all the Service NSW team will continue providing excellent service to the residents and businesses of Grafton and the wider region.

“I look forward to hearing positive feedback about the Service NSW one-stop shop from the community,” he said.
