Number one priority is Manning Hospital upgrade: Bromhead

Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead has again stated his position on the redevelopment of Manning Base Hospital.

“I have discussed the upgrade of Manning Base Hospital with Deputy Premier Troy Grant and Health Minister Jillian Skinner on many occasions and both know the importance of this project,” Mr Bromhead said.

“When the NSW Liberals and Nationals came to government 40 per cent of hospitals across the State were more than 50 years old. The fact is that Labor ignored rural and regional hospitals and we are getting on with the job of redeveloping them.

“My number one priority is ensuring Manning Hospital is at the top of the list for redevelopment.

“Over the last four years the NSW Liberals and Nationals have invested $2 billion in capital works to modernise hospitals and health services across regional NSW and I’m determined to make sure Manning Hospital is the next cab off the rank.

“The NSW Government has committed to provide funding to upgrade the Manning Hospital – it is there in black and white in the 2014-15 Budget Papers.

“The most important thing that I am now fighting for is securing the total funding required to begin stage one, so as we can get the hospital our region deserves.

“I am steadfastly committed to delivering this much-needed redevelopment.”
