New trade centre opens on the Central Coast
A new trade centre has been officially opened at the Central Coast Group Training Centre in North Wyong, thanks to a $2 million investment by the Coalition Government.
The new centre provides local trades based businesses with a fit-for-purpose space to operate out of and showcase their trades to school-based apprentices and trainees.
Minister for Regional Development Fiona Nash said the centre would provide improved training and employment opportunities to students and jobseekers.
“This facility provides young people and local schools in the Central Coast region the chance to interact with businesses and discuss their chosen and future career paths,” Minister Nash said.
“The new technologies can help young people make up their minds about their career, or encourage more people to kick-start a new trade or change their industries.”
Senator for New South Wales the Hon Arthur Sinodinos AO joined the Central Coast community for the official opening of the new centre today.
“It is great to see the difference the Coalition Government's funding is making to increasing employment opportunities on the Central Coast.
“The Australian Government is pleased to partner with Central Coast Group Training which has a wealth of community experience and has supported thousands of people to start or refresh their careers through the Career Guidance Program.”
The $2.5 million Stage Two was jointly funded with the Australian Government investing $2 million, in addition to the $700,000 for Stage One, and Central Coast Group Training providing $500,000.
