New playground for Werris Creek

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today announced $19,995 in NSW Government funding for Liverpool Plains Shire Council to upgrade the Hoamm Park in Werris Creek.

Mr Anderson said the funding will be provided by the popular Community Building Partnerships Program.

“This money will allow the Council to install new train themed play equipment to reflect the railway history strongly associated with the Werris Creek community,” Mr Anderson said.

Liverpool Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Andrew Hope said along with today’s announcement it was also an opportunity to discuss some other projects that are in the pipeline for Werris Creek.

“The upgrade of the Werris Creek Pool and the Werris Creek Rural Fire Service are some of the projects that have been the topic of conversation between Kevin and I.

“There are also plans to install traffic calming devices in Single Street which will ultimately make it safer for those wishing to cross the road to get to Hoamm Park,” Mayor Hope said.

Mr Anderson said this is a great example of different levels of government working together to build better communities.

“Werris Creek is a great town and I am pleased that it is part of the Tamworth electorate.

“I would like to thank Mayor Andrew Hope for his advocacy and support for Werris Creek.

“Our region is progressing but there is still more to be done and I look forward to seeing it grow to its full potential.”
