New Parliamentary Secretary for Renewable Energy and Northern NSW
North Coast Nationals Member of the Legislative Council, the Hon Ben Franklin MLC, is excited by the opportunities for the North Coast following his appointment to serve as the Parliamentary Secretary for Renewable Energy and for Northern New South Wales.
“It is an honour and privilege to be appointed to these roles in the new government. They are areas about which I am deeply passionate and are very dear to my heart,” said Mr Franklin.
Mr Franklin acknowledges the enormous potential there is in the renewable energy sector, and the growing importance it will play in the future.
“I am a very strong supporter of an energy future that is clean, green, reliable and affordable. As Parliamentary Secretary for Renewable Energy, I will continue to fight for this,” he said.
“With a NSW Government goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, we have plenty of work ahead. However, I have no doubt this target can be achieved and I look forward to working with the community and the energy sector to reach the best outcome for our state.”
“I also look forward to working with Don Harwin, the new Minister for Energy and Utilities.”
Mr Franklin said Northern NSW is an exciting place to live and work and as a resident of the North Coast he looks forward to contributing to the unique opportunities that lie ahead.
“Northern NSW is the best area of our state. With ongoing upgrades to the Pacific Highway and a range of new health facilities including the redeveloped Lismore Hospital already among the achievements, The Nationals have accomplished, I look forward to ensuring our great region continues to get its fair share.
“I will continue to meet with, listen to and stand up for the many people who call northern NSW home. I will be a strong advocate for them, and together we will continue to ensure northern NSW is heard loud and clear in Macquarie Street.”
