Recently, Primary Industries Minister Niall Blair unleashed his Farm Incursion Policy, cracking down on trespassers who decide to illegally enter farms. In addition to this increased protection for farmers, he is advocating for a national policy so all Australian farmers can be protected.

With Federal Minister for Agriculture Barnaby Joyce discussions are being held to unite our governments, along with producers, animal welfare enforcement agencies, industry associates, farmers and police in this fight to protect our farmers.

There are many consequences of trespassing ranging from disruption of business, destruction of property, harm to animals and the potential spread of devastating disease. The policy includes an education campaign, development of preventative security strategies, compliance and enforcement operations and new penalties for trespassers.
