Nats receive international praise at political ad awards
In a NSW Nationals first, the television commercial Not this time, Tony, an ad you may remember from the 2016 Federal Election, has made the finals for a top political advertising competition in the USA. During its broadcast, the ad went viral, gaining traction on social and news websites including BuzzFeed and Mamamia.
The ad is a finalist in the Best International TV advertisement category in the prestigious Reed Awards, run by Campaigns & Elections magazine. The Awards, named after Campaigns & Elections founder Stanley Foster Reed embody excellence in political campaigning, campaign management, political consulting and political design, grassroots & advocacy, according to the awards website. The 2017 Reed Awards will be held on Feb 16-17, 2017 in the United States and bring together the best political consultants from across the world.
During the Federal Election, over 40 TV advertisements were broadcast across New South Wales, encouraging voters to put a one next to our candidates. Acknowledgement for our television campaign like this demonstrates the continual importance of harnessing a strong and stimulating message for the screen.
If you want to help support our campaign efforts, particularly in seats like Cowper, where Rob Oakeshott has already committed to running in 2019, consider making a donation to get our world-class ads on the air.
