Michael Johnsen welcomes investment to rebuild Dungog businesses
Michael Johnsen, Member for Upper Hunter highlighted that Dungog businesses will benefit from a $10,000 investment from the NSW Government to provide much needed support to the community and businesses affected by natural disasters earlier this year.
Member for Upper Hunter Michael Johnsen welcomed this grant that will help fund a recovery project being coordinated by the Dungog District Chamber of Commerce.
“Dungog businesses will benefit greatly from this funding after the impact of the storms in April 2015,” Mr Johnsen said.
“Since the storms, the Dungog Chamber has been working tirelessly with our local businesses and stakeholders to help coordinate response and recovery strategies for the local community.”
“Businesses will learn to promote themselves effectively through the upgrade of the Chamber website, database and social media platform,” Mr Johnsen said.
“The funds will also fund a social media course to educate Chamber members about the resources available to them online, and strategies to advertise and improve their businesses,” he said.
This investment will enable the Dungog Chamber to further support local businesses with greater online opportunities.
The efforts of the Dungog Business Chamber were recognised at the Hunter Business Awards in August, where they were awarded the Local Chamber of Commerce Category.
