Major Works for Wauchope District Hospital

The Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey MP has warmly welcomed funding for a series of major works and renovations that are underway at Wauchope Hospital.

Mrs Pavey said Wauchope Hospital is benefiting from a very significant capital injection in core services that will deliver a range of improvements for the community.

“Funding of nearly $520,000 for renovating the vital Rehabilitation Unit has been made available under the NSW Government’s Rural Minor Works program.

“And, importantly, this is in addition to the funding of $1.4 million for roof replacement and repair, and $700,000 for upgrades to the Hospital’s operating theatre.

“Together, these works and measures ensure that the Wauchope Hospital continues to serve the Hastings Valley community and it has an integral role in the Hastings- Macleay Clinical Network.”

The essential first steps of planning and design work for the ‘Rehab Unit’ will begin shortly with the works program to then commence in the new financial year.

Prior to this series of works, Wauchope Hospital saw the establishment of an Urgent Care Centre and completion of the Palliative Care Unit.
