Maintaining our Public Reserves
Maintaining excellent public spaces is vital to the success of our regional communities and under the 2016/17 allocation from the Public Reserves Management Fund Program, regional reserves will benefit from $18 million in financial support.
This funding will allow local managers to carry out much needed improvements and maintenance to infrastructure to ensure the space continues to provide essential services to the community and their historical significance is preserved.
Examples of the excellent work being funded by the program can be found all over regional NSW. Whether it’s the $600,000 upgrade of the Young Showground grandstand which will be carried out in the next year or improvement to the ovals in Jefferson Park in Aberdeen, regional residents across the state can be assured their community hubs will be well looked after.
A total of $1.4 million has been allocated thus far for 56 additional projects with future plans to be announced in other electorates by their respective MPs.
The allocation of over $95 million in funding over the last five years shows the commitment of the NSW Government and The Nationals to supporting the cultural, sporting, economic and recreational life of communities throughout regional NSW.
