Local project receives Regional Arts Fund support in the Northern Rivers

Federal member for Page Kevin Hogan has welcomed more than $64,000 for three arts and cultural projects across the Northern Rivers, through the Regional Arts Fund.

“This is great news for our local arts community and the wider community,” he said.

“This funding will provide an opportunity for Arts Northern Rivers, Norpa and RealArtWorks to tell local stories and comes after Norpa’s highly successful production of Railway Wonderland.

“The Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund creates valuable opportunities for participation and engagement in the arts for local artists, arts and cultural organisations and community members not just in the Northern Rivers but across all of regional Australia.”

The Australian Government is committed to providing equal access to and participation in the arts by and for people across regional and remote Australia.

Arts Northern Rivers will receive $25,000 for If These Halls Could Talk – a multi-arts initiative designed to revitalise and celebrate the significance of our community halls.

Norpa will receive $19,300 for Dreamer – a new theatre work inspired by stories and people in the Northern Rivers.

RealArtWorks will receive $20,000 for the Useless Assembly – a performance based work developed by artists who have been involved in the making of two installations in Lismore and Wagga Wagga.

The Regional Arts Fund is funded by the Australian Government and delivered nationally by Regional Arts Australia through its member organisations. The Fund supports arts and cultural development projects in regional, remote and isolated communities across Australia.
