Local Infrastructure funds flow to Local councils

Over $3-million in payments will be made to local councils in the Lyne electorate this quarter as part of the Federal Financial Assistance Grants program.

Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie said $3,002,656 would be made available to local government services this quarter bringing the total annual grant to $12,010,624.

“This funding is in addition to more than $3-million in Roads to Recovery funding councils receive in my electorate,” Dr Gillespie said.

“Given this is an untied grant, councils can determine local priority projects they support with this Federal funding, ensuring they meet community’s expectations.”

Councils will receive the following Financial Assistance Grant programme funding in 2015–16:

NB: Some councils jurisdictions cross multiple federal electorates.

Electorates are as per the Roads to Recovery reporting and represent 2013 Electorates.

In 2015–16 the Financial Assistance Grant programme will provide $2.3 billion for local governments nationally. This includes $1.1 billion that was paid early to States and Territories on 30 June 2015.
