Lismore & Kunghur Preschools receive $5,000 funding boost

Member for Lismore Thomas George has announced that Lismore & Kunghur Preschools would receive a $5,000 funding boost courtesy of the NSW Government.

Mr George said 100 of the most disadvantaged preschools in the state are to each receive the one-off grants.

“The funds can be used by the preschools for educational resources and infrastructure improvements that support the delivery of the Early Years Learning Framework,” Mr George said.

This could include:

  • acquiring books or resources;
  • meeting training and development costs for staff;
  • renewing infrastructure incorporating play equipment and building maintenance; and
  • assisting students to participate in incursions and excursions.

Minister for Education Adrian Piccoli said the extra funding for preschools will make a real difference to the children who need it most, and will enable preschools to provide new and exciting early learning opportunities and environments.
