Katrina announces additional $1.2 million for Young Sewerage Scheme
Member for Cootamundra and Parliamentary Secretary for Southern NSW, Katrina Hodgkinson has announced that the NSW Government will provide additional funding to Young Shire Council towards the design and construction of the conveyance sewer main as part of the Young Sewerage Augmentation Scheme.
“I am pleased to announce that the NSW Government is able to provide a further $1.2 million to Young Shire Council for the Young Sewerage Augmentation Scheme,” Katrina said.
“This funding will allow Young Shire Council to begin construction of the conveyance sewer main and associated works for this project.
“The total NSW Government financial assistance for the Young Sewerage Augmentation Scheme now stands at over $6.7 million, with previous grants provided for pre-construction activities, the construction of a new sewage treatment plant and associated works.
“While this new sewerage scheme will assist Young Shire Council to meet its environmental licence requirements, it is also ensuring a reliable sewerage system for the residents of Young and better environmental outcomes.”
Katrina said the NSW Government was pleased to support Young Shire Council on this important project.
“The NSW Government is committed to helping local councils and water authorities to deliver reliable, affordable and sustainable water supplies and sewerage systems to NSW communities through the Country Towns Water Supply and Sewerage Program,” Katrina said.
