Joyce, Coulton, Hartsuyker and Hogan preselected

Four of our currently serving members were recently selected to recontest their seats in the upcoming election. Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker, Member for Page Kevin Hogan, Member for Parkes Mark Coulton and Member for New England & Nationals Leader Barnaby Joyce have all been officially endorsed by their local members.

In four different towns across four different electorates, Luke, Mark, Kevin and Barnaby stood to speak about how much representing their electorates mean to them.

Luke welcomed the new towns of Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie:

“If I’m given the privilege of being re-elected as the Federal Member for Cowper, I remain committed to delivering the very best outcomes for the electorate which, at this election, will now include the two vibrant North Coast cities of Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.”

Further north, Kevin spoke of his love for the job:

“It is a privilege to represent my community in Canberra.

“I thank the local members of The Nationals who have preselected me to be their representative in the upcoming Federal Election. I will do all I can to ensure The Nationals win Page and I represent my community in a Coalition Government.”

Meanwhile out west, Mark said he was thrilled the Party thought he was doing something right and he had been pre-selected for a fourth time. "It's interesting because it's actually the third reconfiguration of the electorate while I've been there." he said.

Mark was sad to be losing Bingara, Wellington, Gulgong and Mudgee in the latest redistribution but says, "It's wonderful to welcome Broken Hill and Gunnedah to what I believe is the best part of our great country."

Barnaby spoke to the crowd that gathered in Tamworth, thanking his supporters and speaking with his usual passion, “We can and we will, and I’m confident we shall win this election. For my part I will do everything in my power to make sure we bring that about.”
