The Cumberland branch dinner with Barnaby Joyce

Around 60 members of the Cumberland Branch met on Monday evening to hear Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce.

The dinner was held at the Dural Country Club and after a delicious meal the audience was captivated by Senator Joyce’s address in which he spoke of traditional Nationals values such as commonsense policy making, prudent economic management and how The Nationals are the only party in politics solely concerned with people in regional Australia.

Senator Joyce mainly focused on his portfolio areas of regional development and water but he also had some fascinating suggestions for encouraging migration to regional centres.

He made it clear that The Nationals and Liberals are working hard developing policies before the next federal election and we will be ready whenever we next head to the polls.

In his idiosyncratic style, no ‘Barnaby’ speech would be complete without a beautifully phrased reminder of the way Labor have mismanaged the country’s finances. He also discussed the alarming level of debt we continue to find ourselves in under the current Labor government.

Thank you to the Cumberland members for turning out en mass and congratulations to Bernie Moriarty and Lionel Britton for organising the event.
