Nationals Metropolitan Dinner

Melinda Pavey addressed the Metropolitan Branch's February meeting at the Royal Automobile Club of Australia in Sydney, after she was warmly welcomed by Chairman Merinda Hewat-Cameron.

As Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Health, Melinda gave a brief update on the NSW Government's reforms for rural and regional health.

Melinda is working alongside Health Minister Jillian Skinner to provide funding and to ensure hospitals and other healthcare facilities are managed more efficiently throughout the state.

However, a doctor shortage remains a problem as the government cannot force them to work where they are needed.

Melinda, along with Jenny Gardiner and Niall Blair, informed members that a Motion was passed in the Legislative Council to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.

Senator John “Wacka” Williams is confirmed as a guest speaker for the Metropolitan Branch's April meeting.

Members are welcome to attend Branch meetings when in Sydney.
