Kevin Anderson
Member for Tamworth
Kevin Anderson spent eleven years as a journalist with Prime News in Tamworth, speaking to families across the region about the issues that mattered to them. He left Prime TV in 2004 to work with Hunter New England Area Health Service as a communications and business development manager.
Concerned with Tamworth’s lack of representation in state government, Kevin stood as a candidate for The Nationals in 2007 and in 2011, when he was elected as Member for Tamworth.
In 2010 Kevin was the first Nationals candidate chosen by Community Preselection, where ordinary members of the community were able to have their say in determining our candidate.
He has also taken on a large amount of volunteer work for local charities and community groups such as the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, the Salvation Army and the St Nicholas School Board. In 2008 he was part of the committee that built the Tamworth Ronald McDonald House in two and a half days.
In his spare time Kevin plays rhythm guitar and sings with his mates in a popular local band called Splashpool.
