Hitting the roads of regional NSW
In June the NSW Government handed down the biggest Budget for regional NSW in the State’s history with $1.3 billion in the Regional Growth Fund.
In regional NSW we have always had to work a little bit harder than our city counterparts and our Nationals MPs have been flat out over the winter break making sure we build projects that regional communities deserve.
Over the past three weeks I have been on the road talking to community groups about how we have designed this Budget to build stronger, thriving regional towns and cities.
We have opened applications for the Stronger Country Communities Fund which is pivotal in building local amenities including parks, playgrounds, health centres and halls that our communities need and deserve.
The Stronger Country Communities Fund is one of six funds which make up the Regional Growth Fund which will build infrastructure to carry us into the future, connect our economies through better roads, rail and airports, improve regional telecommunications and build world-class sporting facilities and thriving cultural communities.

With the best economy in the country, the NSW Liberal and Nationals Government is delivering for regional towns and cities across NSW like Cowra, Cootamundra, Grenfell, Tamworth and Kempsey and the 29 other thriving communities I visited on my regional tour.
I have seen first-hand the difference these funds will make to local economies and communities.
I need to say thank you to the local MPs who hosted me on my recent regional tour who showed the energy and enthusiasm needed to deliver the huge tranche of projects that will be carried out over the next two years.
We travelled some mighty kilometres over the past three weeks to visit the electorates of Bathurst, Barwon, Cootamundra, Oxley, Tamworth and the Upper Hunter.
I consider these past few weeks during the winter recess extremely important, to make sure we roll out funds to communities across regional NSW and put the money allocated in the Budget to good use.
