Grants to protect local heritage in Cootamundra
Member for Cootamundra Katrina Hodgkinson has announced $102,000 for 15 projects across the electorate under the NSW Government’s Heritage Grants.
“The NSW Government’s Heritage Grant Program is designed to help communities protect, value and gather more information about their local heritage,”
Katrina said there are 8 successful grants for a Heritage Advisor at Narrandera Shire Council; Cowra Shire Council; Temora Shire Council; Weddin Shire Council; Coolamon Shire Council; Bland Shire Council and for Hilltops Council, at both Young and Harden.
There are also 7 successful grants for the Local Heritage Places – small grants program at Narrandera Shire Council; Cowra Shire Council; Temora Shire Council; Weddin Shire Council; Coolamon Shire Council and for Hilltops Council, at both Young and Harden.
“Looking after our heritage is everyone’s responsibility and local government plays an important role in maintaining heritage at a community level,” Katrina said.
“The local government grants will enable councils to fund their own small grants programs to encourage community action on the front line of heritage protection.”
