Forbes Town Band awarded NSW Government funding

The Forbes Town Band has received $1200 in NSW Government funding to further develop their performance skills and musicianship, Duty MLC for Orange said today.

“The Forbes Town Band produces fantastic performances that are appreciated by the whole community, so they’re very deserving on these funds,” Mrs Mitchell said.

“These funds will allow the band to travel to the Tottenham Rail Centenary event to conduct a workshop with the local town band and local school band, culminating in a combined performance” Mrs Mitchell said.

Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant said the NSW Government is proud to support community bands which play a vital role in nurturing talented musicians across NSW.

“These Community Band Development Grants will help bands expand their skills, gain new audiences and promote their activities,” he said.

“The grants are administered by the peak organising body for community and school brass and wind bands, the Band Association of NSW, on behalf of the NSW Government.”
