Minister for Finance, Services and Property Dominic Perrottet joined the Member for Cootamundra Katrina Hodgkinson to officially open the new Service NSW one-stop shop in Cowra.

“The new Cowra Service Centre is already proving to be a game-changer for local residents and businesses,” Mr Perrottet said. “People can access more than 800 NSW government transactions, including driver licences, vehicle registrations, Seniors Card applications, owner builder permits, housing payments and more, all under one roof.”

Mr Perrottet said the government is making it even more convenient for customers, with more and more transactions becoming accessible online, more self-serve kiosks, the Service NSW smartphone app, and new initiatives such as LiveChat.

“We are delivering on a key commitment to make transacting with government easier. Since its launch in 2013, Service NSW has served more than 21 million customers through the digital service, 24/7 phone service and 42 service centres across the State.”

Ms Hodgkinson said residents would no longer need to drive an hour to either Bathurst or Orange to access services that weren’t previously available locally.

“This is all about convenience and efficiency for customers. The days of local people having to visit many locations to transact with the NSW Government are about to end,” she said. “These are the sorts of services and options people have been asking for and we’re pleased to be delivering them.”

Ms Hodgkinson said the one-stop shop’s new manager is Cowra local Sharryn Lewis. “Sharryn brings a wealth of experience from banking to Service NSW, and I wish her and the Cowra team all the best in their ongoing service to our community,” she said.

Cowra’s Service NSW Centre is located at 97 Brisbane Street Cowra (the former motor registry site) and opened in August 2015. It offers extended hours from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
