Never a better time to own your own home in regional NSW
The NSW Nationals understand the importance of regional New South Wales and how fantastic it is to live here. That’s why the NSW Liberals and Nationals government has announced a package for first home buyers that puts regional families at its centre.
The average price of a home in regional New South Wales is around $365,000. Last week we announced a stamp duty exemption of up to $650,000 for new or existing homes. That makes regional New South Wales an attractive proposition for young people and families looking to secure their future by owning their first home.
It is important that when we deliver homes, we deliver them across the State. This package—the stamp duty exemption and the First Home Owner Grant of $10,000—is not just for Sydney, but also for regional New South Wales.
I am excited to be part of a vision to make sure that housing affordability and owning your own home is no longer a dream but a reality for so many young people in this State. If people buy a property that costs around $650,000, the stamp duty exemption is about $24,000, plus the $10,000 First Home Owner Grant. That is a significant investment by the Government to help young people get into their first home.
I look forward to seeing more young people moving to great regional centres such as Queanbeyan, Dubbo, Bathurst, Armidale, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga or Goulburn. We have vibrant regional economies and communities that make our cities and towns an exciting place to live and work and a now more than ever, an attractive place to own your first home.
