Anderson welcomes country music fans

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has today welcomed country music fans to the region on day one of the famous Toyota Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Mr Anderson said the city is already a buzz with festivities getting underway this morning.

“It’s time to kick up our heels once again for the festival and this year looks set to be another good one.

“The Tamworth Country Music Festival is one of the biggest and best festivals in Australia with such a massive variety of acts on offer.

“There is a definite party vibe with Peel Street already alive with both country music fans and street performers and it’s only going to grow as we head further through the ten days.

“As well as the festivities this event provides a unique opportunity for us to showcase our region to a large audience and I encourage visitors to get around the city and the region to learn a bit about how much we have to offer.

“Whether you’re a regular guest, a first timer or you’re one of our many great locals, because you are here in Tamworth at this moment means that you are currently at the nation’s greatest party.

“The festival has a big cultural impact on our region as well as providing a massive boost to our local economy which then has flow on effects throughout the rest of the year, so it’s definitely one of the most important events on our city’s calendar.

“This festival is possible through many sponsors including Destination NSW and thank you to everyone that contributes to making the festival the state’s premier music event and I hope to see you at a few gigs.” Mr Anderson concluded.
