Anderson congratulates Tamworth Hospital Redevelopment Team

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson congratulated the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital Redevelopment Team led by General Manager Brad Hansen on a successful Community Day held at the new hospital on Saturday.

Mr Anderson said the Community Day was an excellent opportunity to have a good look through the new hospital before clinical services move in at the end of July.

“The modern state of the art facility is an impressive site from the outside which is complimented by equally impressive services inside.

“The day was also a great chance to learn where the new emergency department and entrance will be located from July.

“Brand new services, including the emergency department, medical ward and main entrance and foyer were open to the public with a raft of hospital staff and volunteers assisting on the day.

“I would like to congratulate and thank everyone involved for what was a very successful day.

“I am a firm believer that if you build it they will come. Recruitment is an ongoing challenge that’s why the new Tamworth Hospital is part of my strong health plan to build a better region by improving our health services and bringing in more nurses and specialists to make the most of our new hospital.

“This project is very dear to me and I made a promise to the people of the Tamworth electorate in 2011 and it is with great pride that the new hospital will be open for the community in weeks to come,” Mr Anderson concluded.
