Activating skilled jobs and building regional services

Delivering more skilled jobs, investing in regional infrastructure and empowering small business will be the key responsibilities for John Barilaro, Member for Monaro and Minister for Regional Development, Skills and Small Business.

Mr Barilaro said he will ensure Monaro has a strong voice in Cabinet following his new Ministerial responsibilities.

“I am humbled and honoured with this new opportunity to throw the focus of government onto the Monaro region,” Mr Barilaro said.

“We will continue to deliver more skilled jobs, build better regional services and unlock the potential of small business in local communities.

“This new portfolio is about creating and securing local jobs, so our families can look forward to being able to live and work in the Monaro.

“This Government has committed to boosting jobs in regional communities, including 100 new local jobs in the Monaro.

“The NSW Liberals & Nationals new Cabinet team has a strong regional focus, with nine Ministers representing regional communities.

“I am keen to get on with the job and look forward to delivering real outcomes for local communities across the state.

“It’s crucial the Monaro continues to have a strong, authentic voice at the Cabinet table.”

The new Cabinet was sworn in by the NSW Governor today.
