A visit to Orange and taking care of Aged Care
Last week, Deputy Leader of the NSW Nationals Niall Blair and I hit the road to spend more time in Orange, meeting with the community to discuss a range of issues.
As a marginal seat Member I know how vital it is to keep in touch with what is most important to our people. I would like to thank those who made the time to share their concerns with me and look forward to finding solutions together as we move forward.
This week I was also pleased to announce an Australian first industry partnership initiative as part of our One TAFE model.
TAFE NSW is now seeking applications from all aged care providers across the State, from Barwon to Bathurst and Gosford to Goulburn, with the focus to co-locate aged care facilities and on-the-job training for students.
This new learning opportunity will bring Australia’s leading public VET provider, TAFE NSW, and industry together so students can learn on the job from qualified aged care staff.
Partnerships like this will provide local jobs for our young people, as well as ensuring high quality, local aged care facilities for our parents and grandparents.
The NSW Government is looking for new ways to build our health workforce and provide excellent care in retirement living, home and aged care across the State.
We are dedicated to building a workforce to fill the demand for jobs in the health, retirement living, home and aged care sectors to accommodate Australia’s ageing population.
