2015 NSW Regional Dentistry Scholarship announced
The sixth New South Wales Regional Dentistry Scholarship has been awarded to Matthew McGreal who grew up and was educated in Dubbo.
The scholarship is sponsored by the Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams who will provide $4,800 of his own funds to assist Matthew in his studies.
Matthew has enrolled in the 1st year of the Bachelor of Dental Science at Charles Sturt University in Orange.
As part of his scholarship, Matthew will receive mentoring support from experienced dental practitioner Dr. Christopher Cole who has also been a mentor to the five previous scholarship recipients Olivia Jom, Jessica Powell, Alayne White, Amelia Judson and Jarrod Brice.
Senator Williams has congratulated Matthew and said his vision is to provide outreach dental services to remote NSW, and would one day like to mentor students and recently-graduated dentists.
Senator Williams said he looks forward to Matthew graduating and providing a much-needed dental service in a rural and regional area.
The New South Wales Regional Dentistry Scholarship is administered by the National Rural Health Alliance which oversees the application process and supports the recipient where needed throughout the year.
